The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based applications, services and devices during the past year. Awards were classified in various categories, with honorees chosen from a set of more than 3,900 submitted nominations from more than 100 countries worldwide. PRODYNA was recognized for providing outstanding solutions and services in Cloud Native App Development.

To combat the COVID-19 pandemic and avoid a public health crisis, the German government passed the DIVI Intensive Care Register Ordinance, which was to take effect in just three weeks and required each ICU to report its bed utilization factors on a 24-hour basis. As a result, the German Federal Ministry of Health commissioned PRODYNA to develop a cloud-based web application in collaboration with the Robert Koch Institute and the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI). The solution was developed based on state-of-the-art PRODYNA best practice approaches in the areas of agile team organization, collaboration (Miro, Atlassian Suite), user experience (Sketch, FIGMA, Angular) and software architecture (Azure, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.). The project goal of equipping more than 1300 hospitals with a completely new application in less than three weeks was met with the use of cloud technologies. The partner SAS was selected for the operation.

The Federal Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the German Association for Intensive Care Medicine (DIVI), commissioned PRODYNA to develop an intensive care registry to create a uniform picture of intensive care capacity nationwide.

In this year's competition, PRODYNA once again prevailed in the category "Technologies" and were awarded first place. A provisional platform already existed for reporting intensive care bed occupancy, but it was not up to the challenges at hand, either professionally or technically. PRODYNA were tasked with solving the problem for RKI technology partner SAS. "We get called to fire calls with increasing regularity," says Jens Weimar, managing director at PRODYNA. "But a situation with the pressure and scope was a new experience for us as well. Only about 14 days later, in April 2021, the intensive care bed registry had to be ready."

"We had to implement a highly available and scalable system in the Cloud, in the shortest possible time to be able to process the enormous number of requests to the public area. At the same time, we had to ensure maximum reliability for reporting by the intensive care unit," explains Florian Aßmus. And as if the firefighting mission during implementation had not been enough, the PRODYNA consultants were still faced with the challenge of explaining the complicated regulation and use of the new solution to Germany's more than 1,500 intensive care hospitals directly with the live launch. "24 hours before the hospitals had to report their beds, we still had to set up a service hotline on the fly and brief the phone operators," says Timothy Simms.

CMO Jens Weimar draws a very positive conclusion overall: "We learned a lot about ourselves and that we can be incredibly fast and still be professional. The longtime Liferay service partner PRODYNA has won for the 4th time in a row the Liferay Customer Excellence Award, which is based on a survey of Liferay customers in satisfaction with Liferay and the associated services provided by its partners. Liferay customers consistently rated PRODYNA with the highest score. "We are pleased about the new award and above all the appreciation of our customers. Technology alone is no solution. It is only the customers that enable us to build a solution with Liferay that brings real added value," explains Dr. David Wainwright, Head of Business Solutions at PRODYNA. This year PRODYNA convinced in every aspect: in addition to the Liferay Customer Excellence Award and the New Business Campaign Award, the Liferay Innovation Award, chosen by the LDSF audience, went also to the consulting and technology service provider.

Through the development of innovative solutions, PRODYNA convinced the LDSF audience and won the application for the Liferay Innovation Award with the project "Interstellar Travels". The Innovation Award is an audience award for which the partner companies were able to apply in advance of the event and which LDSF participants voted for live at the event. PRODYNA has been honored for developing a SharePoint integration module for Liferay DXP that seamlessly integrates SharePoint functionality with Liferay. In a first customer project, the solution is already in use: The intranet, based on Liferay DXP, has been live with SharePoint integration since October. The systems previously used in parallel are now merged and employees can also access information stored in SharePoint via the platform. "With the ability to integrate SharePoint into Liferay DXP, we bring two worlds together and make sure that the customer can fully live the platform idea. Log in once and all relevant information is available," says Dr. David Wainwright. "We already have many ideas on how we can further develop the integration module in future projects!"

Liferay hat am 4. November im Rahmen des Liferay Portal Solutions Forum (LPSF) in Darmstadt die Liferay Partner Awards verliehen. Damit zeichnet der Anbieter von Portallösungen erstmals Partner aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum für ihre besonderen Leistungen aus.
