Datacenter Migration & Modernization Assessment
Cloud Migration & Modernization

Motivation
Migrating your datacenter to the cloud is a transformative step that can significantly enhance your organization's digital infrastructure. By transitioning to cloud-based systems, you can achieve increased efficiency, cost savings, enhanced security, scalability, flexibility, and compliance. These benefits are crucial for driving long-term business objectives and fostering innovation.
Our Datacenter Migration & Modernization Assessment offering is designed to help you determine the most suitable migration strategy for your organization, ensuring a smooth and successful transition by thoroughly understanding your current infrastructure and its dependencies.
What we bring
With over 20 years of experience in software, data, and cloud architectures for many of the world's largest enterprises, PRODYNA is equipped to assist you in designing, developing, or migrating applications to the public cloud. Our services include:
- Extensive experience in datacenter operations, including application hosting for numerous clients.
- Comprehensive infrastructure expertise in both Windows and Linux-based architectures.
- Membership in the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program with designations and specializations in Digital and App Innovation, Data & AI, and Infrastructure.
What you need
To perform a comprehensive assessment, it is essential to assemble a team of motivated professionals who possess expertise in compute infrastructure, network operations, security measures, and application management relevant to your current infrastructure.
What you get
A two-step approach is recommended for the assessment. Firstly, Azure Migrate will be used to scan a defined scope within the datacenters, including computing resources and network connections. The gathered results will then be analyzed and processed by Dr. Migrate AI. Initial migration recommendations will be provided based on cloud readiness, by mapping the applications to the 6Rs model. For instance, a server that no longer has any network traffic may be categorized under the recommendation of Retire. Based on the results, a migration strategy will be developed in the second step. Here, together with experts, various cross cutting issues are examined and relevant example applications are identified if modernization is the aim. Applications are grouped, and at least one example from each group is selected. Small, dedicated workshops with respective experts are best suited for this to obtain an overall picture and, based on this, design a migration strategy and initial cloud architecture with recommended technologies. In the migration strategy, a procedure for migrating the applications to Azure is jointly developed, defining tooling alongside organizational planning. The architecture includes components for runtime environments and databases. Proposals are also made for aspects such as encryption and secret/key handling. PRODYNA will guide you and your employees through the solution creation process in the following phases:
Discovery & Analysis
(generally 1-3 weeks)
We begin by evaluating your existing infrastructure using Azure Migrate. This involves installing an appliance to detect your infrastructure. It is generally advisable to conduct the scan for a duration of up to three weeks, incorporating a monthly transition to identify peak loads in your applications. Upon completion of the scan, we will review the findings and upload them to Doc Migrate for detailed analysis.
Azure Landingzone Review
(generally 1-2 days)
If you already operate Azure landing zones, we conduct a review of the current cloud infrastructure in the following areas:
- Subscriptions
- Identity
- Networking
- Security
- Governance
Migration strategy
(generally 5-15 days)
In dedicated workshops, we gain an understanding of your current infrastructure and conduct an in-depth analysis on topics such as:
- Authentication and authorization
- Networking, including firewalls and load balancers
- Shared services and databases
- Monitoring and alerting
- Backup and recovery
Review and plan
(generally 1 day)
A workshop will review results and present the migration strategy. A roadmap with recommended next steps will also be discussed.
