Cloud Adoption & Infrastructure Automation

Managed Kubernetes Platform on STACKIT

Cloud Adoption & Infrastructure Automation

Motivation

Organizations operating containerized workloads across multiple teams and environments face significant challenges with fragmented Kubernetes operations. These challenges include inconsistent cluster configurations, manual provisioning processes, limited governance, and increasing security and compliance risks.

Without a centralized platform approach, operational complexity grows with every additional cluster, leading to inefficiencies and potential vulnerabilities. A managed Kubernetes platform on a sovereign European cloud infrastructure is an effective method for achieving standardized, secure, and scalable container operations.

What we bring

20 years of experience with software and data architectures for many of the world's largest enterprises has generated the expertise needed for PRODYNA to help you design and implement Kubernetes platforms on STACKIT. With this offering we will assist you with:

  • Designing a centralized management cluster with fleet-wide governance
  • Deploying and managing workload clusters across STACKIT landing zones
  • Implementing GitOps-based configuration and automated lifecycle management
  • Establishing security, RBAC, and policy enforcement (OPA / Kyverno)
  • Setting up centralized observability, logging, and monitoring
  • Enabling developer self-service through an Internal Developer Platform
  • Ensuring EU-compliant, sovereign cloud operations without hyperscaler dependency

What you need

To make the best use of this offer and permit a fast and efficient start, you will need:

  • A STACKIT organization
  • Landing Zone Setup
  • Availability of your experts (e.g. platform team, STACKIT team)

What you get

Depending on the size and complexity of your organization's container landscape, achieving a fully operational multi cluster platform is best accomplished in phases. Initially, focusing on the management cluster foundation and a first set of workload clusters would be an appropriate objective. Subsequent phases can progressively onboard additional clusters, add-ons, and developer self-service capabilities until optimal platform maturity is achieved. The scope of the initial phase will be clarified prior to the project. PRODYNA will guide you through the platform creation process in the following phases:

Discovery Workshop (1 day) & Architecture

(generally 1-2 weeks)

We start by assessing your current infrastructure, workloads, and compliance requirements through a platform architecture workshop with key stakeholders. Our experts design the target architecture and landing zone strategy, delivering a Platform Architecture Blueprint & Roadmap.

Foundation & Management Cluster

(generally 3-4 weeks)

PRODYNA will deploy the management cluster to a landing zone project. The management cluster serves as the central control plane for distributing Kubernetes add-ons, Helm charts, and standardized configurations across all managed workload clusters.

Deliverable: Production-ready management cluster with CI/CD and governance tooling.

Workload Cluster Fleet Rollout

(generally 2-3 weeks)

PRODYNA will provision initial workload clusters (Dev, Test, Prod) and deploy add-ons with configuration synchronization from the management cluster. Optionally, a developer self-service proof of concept can be included to validate portal-based onboarding workflows.

Deliverable: Operational workload clusters with developer self-service enabled.

Handover & Operational Enablement

(generally 2-3 weeks)

The focus of this phase is on enabling your internal teams to confidently operate the platform. Through knowledge transfer sessions, emphasis is placed on cluster lifecycle management, add-on upgrades, scaling operations, and monitoring.

Deliverable: Trained internal team capable of managing the full platform lifecycle.
